Jeong Jin-woong, entered UNIST in 2022, School of Energy and Chemical Engineering

A1The most memorable experience for me was holding an event called “Explorer@UNIST(E@U)” in January. E@U is a three-day camp event where UNI students become a leader of a group of members composed of high school students who are soon to become 3rd grade, and participate in various activities such as major exploration and special lectures by professors. As UNI planned and hosted the E@U from start to finish, it was even more meaningful. I remember it the most because I got to have many conversations with group members and develop good memories.

A2I believe good research equipment is important to ensure good research results. In this respect, UNIST produces good research results every year with their excellent facilities and equipment. The top-class research facilities are not only for researchers, professors, and graduate students, but also for undergraduate students. I believe it is UNIST’s advantage that students can build meaningful experiences from their undergraduate years.

A3Those of you who studied hard, delaying the things that you wanted to do, I would like to say…well done! I hope that you will come to UNIST and get to do things for fun, such as club activities, while also studying hard. So, please be a Unistar and be the star to light up the school!

Kim Na-yeon, entered UNIST in 2023, School of New Unistars

A1I think my most memorable experience was when I had to film a promotional video for college admission. When I was preparing for college entrance, I also searched information on UNIST through YouTube and Naver. So, I worked hard — thinking all the time about the students who would watch the video. It felt rewarding to know that more people than I expected watched the video. I hope that the video we took will be of great help to students.

A2The first is the beautiful campus! As we go on campus tours, most people compliment us on the clean and beautiful campus. Taking a walk around campus at night after the school starts is also a small but definite joy for me. I think the flexible changing major system is also a huge advantage. It is a known fact that one’s career path can constantly change. It is thus a great advantage for students to be able to take different classes from freshmen year and choose their major, and to be able to change majors without grade restrictions.

A3First of all, congratulations and welcome for school entrance! All classes are given 100% in English, and there may be difficulties in taking basic courses, but I believe you will gain a lot from it. There are many different opportunities that the school offers. Be sure to take and enjoy all of them and make our school shine.

Jeon Seo-hee, entered UNIST in 2023, School of New Unistars

A1I remember participating as a panel member at the talk concert during the parent main school campus visit event. Unlike the campus tour targeting students, many questions were asked about the dormitory (residence hall) life. I remember that I thought, “My parents had these worries while sending me to school.” As many students live on campus, facilities in the UNIST dormitory are improving through remodeling. It was enjoyable telling them that we are staying safe here together having fun with our homemates.

A2I believe the biggest advantage is that you can enter into the School of New Unistars and have a year of time to think about your major. It is very helpful for students to be able to set career paths by talking directly with professors through the various programs prepared by the department or local groups to help students. In addition, it is close to Ulsan Station geographically. You can therefore create happy memories in various places such as Busan, Gyeongju, and Daegu, or easily go to Seoul or Incheon.

A3You’ve worked hard during the long period of study for the entrance exam. Classes at UNIST may feel difficult, but please be confident that you will get through it, if you use programs like tutoring or open lectures. I hope you have fun in college, doing good in both studying and creating meaningful memories. Looking forward to seeing you at school!
